Information about PharmaLok Tubing Clamps

The PharmaLok tubing clamps belong to the same product series as our PharmaLok sanitary clamps and – just like these – use a ratchet as a locking mechanism.

This ensures easy operation of the tubing clamp, which can be done with just one hand. To close the PharmaLok, simply press it together, then the latch fixes the clamp in the respective position. To open the clamp, the latch is lifted using a tab so that it can be released from the holder and opened again. The tubing clamp is characterized by its durability and can be used several times.

The material used is glass fiber reinforced nylon, which means that the PharmaLok tubing clamps are highly resistant to temperatures and external influences. The working temperature is -70 °C to +60 °C and the pressure resistance is up to 10 bar. The tubing clamp can be autoclaved at up to +134 °C for a maximum of 30 minutes and is suitable for gamma irradiation up to 50 kGy.

A total of three different sizes of PharmaLok tubing clamp are available:

· For tubing with 0,8 mm – 2,4 mm wall thickness (max. 12,7 mm OD)

· For tubing with 3,2 mm – 6,4 mm wall thickness (max. 25,4 mm OD)

· For tubing with 3,2 mm – 6,4 mm wall thickness (max. 63,5 mm OD)

These hose clamps are available in white and orange and meet the requirements of USP Class VI and ISO 10993. The color differentiation allows process lines to be visually marked, which makes identification much easier for users. The PharmaLok tubing clamps are suitable for all common tubing types and cover a wide range of applications with their three different sizes.

There is an opening at the top and bottom of the clamp through which a cable tie can be passed. Once the PharmaLok clamp has been installed and closed, it can now be secured against unintentional reopening with this cable tie. This increases process reliability and prevents the line from being unintentionally opened again. Especially in complex processes, this is a helpful option for employees and prevents application errors.
