Functional description of the Tube Welder 3960

Before use, the device must be connected to a 230V power source and an air pressure source. The built-in pneumatic components rely on compressed air for automation.

After installing the Tubing Welder, the first tubing must be inserted into the device from the left-hand side and the second tubing from the right-hand side so that they overlap by a 2-4 inches. Aluminum fixings hold both tubing in this position, allowing the protective cover of the Tube Welder to be closed to start the process. After starting by pressing a button, a sharp steel blade heats up to cut through both tubes with a single stroke. After the cut, the hose ends to be joined remain on the heated cutting edge of the Tubing Welder. This is done until both cutted tubing ends are hot enough to form a structure in the butt joint. The blade will then be withdrawn again in an abrupt manner and the two tubing can cool down when these are finally welded together. During the process itself, the tubing are pressed and not opened; this and the high heat in the welding area ensure the sterility of the connection.
