Test tubes can be used extremely versatile and even today, they can be found in nearly every research institute or laboratory. For instance, these items can be used to collect samples of liquids, centrifuge them and analyze them afterwards. They are also perfectly suited to cause chemical reactions with different reagents and examine the result. The invention of test tubes is commonly attributed to Jöns Jakob Berzelius (1779-1848), but there are records that the Englishman Stephen Hales (1677-1761) already used similar types of glass ware.
GMPTEC is the authorized distributor for Borosil and offers a broad range of different test tubes and matching accessories. Besides many different volumes, there are also different types and shapes available. There are special types which are designed to be used in a centrifuge or which have a flat bottom instead of the regular rounded one. Depending on the design, there are executions which have a rim, a scale that allows to check the filling level or an additional lip for easier emptying. Additionally, there is a selection of plugs, adapters, closures and further accessories available that can be used in combination with the GMPTEC test tubes.
All test tubes are made of high-quality 3.3 borosilicate glass according to DIN ISO 3585 / ASTM E488 standards and guarantee highest product quality. The material has a great resistance against chemicals and temperature, which allows to use the tubes in many different processes.
