Sanitary Gaskets can always be used, when two tubings are to be connected by a Tri-Clamp Flange. These can be both, pipes made of stainless steel and tubings with connections made of stainless steel or plastics. For this, the Tri-Clamp Gasket is being positioned between the two flanges and fastened by a Sanitary Clamp.

Tri-Clamp connections have become a common used connection in the pharmaceutical and also biotechnological industry by now and can be found on nearly every assembly and container. A big variety of Sanitary Flange Gaskets is needed in order to meet the required properties and chemical resistances fit to the particular processes.

Sanitary Gaskets are generally available in three different types:
The Sanitary Gasket Type 1 is in it’s simplest edition. A radial material without mounting lip.
Added to Type 2 is an additional mounting lip on the outer edge of the Gasket. This lip allows to position the Gasket on the Sanitary Clamp before fastening it together, without the hazard of dropping. The handling is facilitated noticeably and the risk of Gaskets falling down is minimized.
Type 3 is a Gasket made of several layers. The core is optionally made of EPDM or FKM, while the two outer layers are made of PTFE. This combines the positive properties of both materials, which has a high chemical resistance and also a high flexibility. On request, this Gasket can be produced with an additional lip.
The Sanitary Gaskets are available in several sizes depending to the measurement of the tube and according to the norms like ASME BPE, DIN 32676, DIN 11850, DIN 10357 or ISO 1127.
The Gaskets for Tri-Clamp connections are conform to all established standards, not only USP class VI, but also free of animal derived components. Also these are being manufactured according to the cGMP guidelines.
