Information about Glass Bottles
Bottles made of glass are being used in many different areas and applications. They are perfectly suited for laboratories or research institutes, but also for challenging pharmaceutical processes. Due to their versatile usability and the possibility to clean and sterilize them multiple times, glass bottles allow cost saving work while maintaining a high level of process quality.
GMPTEC is the authorized distributor for Borosil and offers a huge variety of glass bottles. The product line covers square and round standard bottles, but also special types of bottles with additional ports. Besides bottles with a threaded neck, which are featuring a standard plastic closure, there are also bottles which have a conical neck. This type of opening can be used to attach plugs, adapters and also different types of measuring equipment to the bottle. Most bottles are available in either clear or amber material. The amber colored bottles protect their content from ultraviolet radiation and ensure the product quality of sensitive media.
All bottles are manufactured by utilizing an elaborate process which allows to archive the best possible quality of the final products. Borosil glass bottles are made of 3.3 borosilicate glass according to DIN ISO 3585 / ASTM E488 standards and have an especially high level of product quality. This type of glass has a high resistance against temperatures and also chemicals. This chemical resistance allows to store most liquids and reagents over a long period of time, without worrying about their condition.
Glass bottles with threaded cap can also be supplied with individual bottle tops made of silicone, which are being manufactured via overmolding. These bottle tops can be fitted with different tubing lengths and allow of easily fill or empty the glass bottles. Upon request, they can already be equipped with plastic fittings or couplers.
